Church Heating

Church Heating

We understand just how difficult heating a church can be especially when operating on a tight budget - high ceilings, large open spaces, limited wall space, large windows and poor overall insulation values make heating the church very expensive.

Infrared Solutions for Churches

Our innovative infrared heating system will allow your congregation to be warm with minimal running costs that are literally based on a per person basis and won't alter the overall appearance of your churches interior.

Our pew heating system directly heats the people meaning every penny of energy is used efficiently and effectively heating individuals, not the whole space of the church, most of which is superfluous.

Our pew heaters (bench heaters) are very efficient as they only need to be operated several minutes before the congregation arrives to ensure a warm welcome. They each incorporate the very latest technology which ensures that the surface is safe to touch in terms of the surface touch temperature during operation.

Each pew is operated independently so Running Costs are kept to an absolute minimum, you could even say on a “Pay per Pew” basis making it easy to calculate and budget your heating costs. One great advantage of our heating system is when the service or wedding has finished and the congregation have left you simply turn everything off, reducing your running to zero.

Infrared Used More and More

In addition to installing Bench Heaters, many communities throughout the UK are also choosing infrared under-floor, infrared ceiling or infrared wall mounted heating systems to be installed in their local churches. During the long-running cold season, everyone thinks of alternatives to reduce heating costs, but still wants to keep their churches nice and warm.

One of the most important requirements for the church heating is to prevent dampness that causes damage to damp-sensitive church contents such as the organ, frescoes, paintings, architecture, etc. To this end, our heating systems help you to reduce energy costs, to prevent damp problems and also to keep the community healthier and happier in your warm and cosy church.

Infrared heating works in the same way as the sun-rays where the infrared rays warm up objects and once warmed these objects then gently release their heat in to the air, this way increasing the room temperature.

Advantages of Infrared Church Heating

  • Saves up to 50% on energy costs (savings depend on insulation, ceiling height, age of the building, etc.)
  • The space can be heated up in a short period of time
  • Warms the floor through direct infrared radiation
  • Does not cause air movement that produces dust
  • Does not produce any noise, has no moving parts and does not require any maintenance
  • Concentrated heating (can heat only chosen area)
  • Infrared heaters can be suspended or ceiling mounted
  • Gentle radiant heat results in improved comfort at lower temperatures
  • Infrared heating uses less energy than conventional heaters by converting about 90% of the electricity into the actual heat with minimal energy loss
  • Infrared heating heats objects directly in its path
  • Infrared heating systems do not produce dry heat
  • Operates with no carbon combustion (does not produce toxic by-products, no possibility of open flame or fuel leaks) their no carbon-monoxide poisoning
  • Prevents mould growth
  • Beneficial for people with health conditions such as asthma or bronchial ailments and also Improves blood circulation, metabolism and immune system
  • Easy to install

Incredibly Low Running Costs

This calculation is for example purposes only.

Our assumptions used for calculating your hourly heating costs:
A pew is 3m long.
Each pew has 2 x 330 Watt Bench Heater Panels fitted (1250mmx320mmx30mm) = 660 Watts per pew.
Cost per Kw per Hr = £0.0015.

Therefore energy used for each pew per hour = 660 x 0.0015 = £0.99.

When the church isn’t in use
When your church isn’t being used some heating systems require constant running in order to maintain an ambient temperature ready for the next service. With our On-Demand Infrared Heating solutions why pay to keep an empty building warm?
Infrared Running Cost: £0.00.

Sunday Service
During a typical Sunday Service there can be a varying number of people present. Our system allows you to only heat the pews that are required; if more people arrive later you can simply click a switch and supply them with heat.

Example:
48 people attend for service. They sit 6 per pew and therefore use 8 pews. Only paying for the heat required Infrared Running Cost = 8 x £0.99 = £7.92 per Hour, OR £0.165 per person per hour.

A Full Church
On occasions your church maybe totally full, i.e. Weddings. In this instance all the heaters can be operated ensuring an equal warmth to all those present.

Example:
All 30 pews are occupied. Total Infrared Running Cost = 30 x £0.99 = £29.70 per Hour (i.e. the same cost £0.165 per person per hour).
